Mostly people who fake their own deaths tend to be criminals, former convicts, and frauds. People who fake their own deaths sometimes do so by pretend drownings, because it provides a plausible reason for the absence of a body. According to a text from wikipedia the person says, "This is done for a variety of reasons, such as to fraudulently collect insurance money or to avoid capture by law enforcement for some other crime." It is not illegal to fake your own death. So designing a faux death is perfectly alright. In and of itself, it's weird and kind of sad, but not illegal. "I am unaware of any federal statute that would apply to an individual who fakes their own death," FBI spokesman Bill Carter told Life's Little Mysteries. Some people think about faking their death. People do it as a concept and as an act people attempt with surprisingly frequency. In the site the author states, "This is done for a variety of reasons, such as to fraudulently collect insurance money or to avoid capture by law enforcement for some other crime."

Reading Log #5 Topic Choice #5-GATE Depth & Complexity Icons + Content Imperatives
I think the content imperative was convergence. I think that because many of the situations come all together. The situations came all together and made a bigger problem. It made a bigger problem because Lisa was supposably dead but she actually faked her death. In page 132 the author states, "When Vernice told me that, it made the whole world stop and then it hit me; I GOTTA FIND LISA!" I think that would make a problem because if she finds Lisa people are going to know that she is alive. If people know then she would go to jail or probably have a death sentence for making here death a false idea. Another thing that tells us about the book being into convergence was, " It all made sense to me now. Then I remembered that the box I closed was the only thing that would help me find her." This is convergence because it all made sense now to Riley. Now she is going to try to find her sister but Lisa left for a reason and if Riley tries to find her then things can go bad for Lisa and maybe Riley will ruin Lisa's life.
